PENRHOS College athletes showed their blossoming talents and continued their dominance of the prestigious Independent Girls School Sports Association at the recent athletics carnival.
The team won the carnival for the 18th consecutive year with a final tally of 1177 points to edge out Perth College (1049) and Santa Maria College (1035).
Co-curricular director Norbert Fandry, who has coached the team for the past 21 years, believed the school’s strength on the track was the catalyst for its continued success but improved performance in field events was the highlight.
“Competition was extremely fierce this year and this was probably one of the best seasons we have had, especially from our field athletes,” Mr Fandry said.
“A number of personal best and top performances helped us take home the much coveted cup.”
