KATHLEEN Robertson (19), of Beechboro, was diagnosed with a series of brain tumours last year, but her positive spirit and determination to promote cancer research was evident as she shaved off her long locks for the World’s Greatest Shave.
Kathleen was one of many people who shaved their heads for the cause at Curtin University, where her mother Amanda Paine is studying a business degree, creating quite a spectacle for everyone on the campus.
She will have surgery later this month to remove the tumours.
“I’m so excited about shaving my head for this amazing cause – it will be fun,” she said.
“I really want to promote cancer awareness and cancer research and this is a good way to do it.”
Kathleen said she had raised about $700 so far, but there were still more donations coming in from family and friends, including Kiara police officers.
